Wyandot County Recycling Center Poster Contest Winners announced.
The Wyandot County Recycling Center offered a poster contest open to all Wyandot County students in grades 3 and 4 this spring. The contest challenged the students to design and create a poster to promote recycling. This year’s theme was Don’t Trash Our Future – Recycle. The students were asked to create a poster using the theme to help promote recycling.
Janine McMillan, recycling center education and outreach coordinator, visited all 13 third grade and 13 fourth grade classrooms early in February and March to present the contest and provide some information about the recycling center and what materials are collected to process for recycling. Each child was provided with a poster on which to create their design. The posters were collected the first week of April and judged by the recycling center staff.
Each classroom had one class winner for both grades. The students received a letter stating that they had the winning poster for their classroom. The letter also invited each of the classroom winners to an awards pizza party so that the county winners could be announced.
