Celebrate Earth Day on April 22nd with the Wyandot County Recycling Center!
The Wyandot County Recycling Center is celebrating the 55th anniversary of Earth Day with free giveaways! Residents can bring their recycling out to the drive-thru on Tuesday, April 22, 2025 from 8:00 AM until 4:30 PM and receive a free gift in celebration of Earth Day, while supplies last. Gifts will include reusable grocery bags, notebooks, and items made from recycled materials.
The Wyandot County Recycling Center accepts a wide variety of recyclables. Recyclable items include plastic (#1, #2, #5), cardboard, chipboard, paper products, books, glass, steel food cans, and aluminum.
Some recyclables are considered special items and are only accepted at the recycling center drive-thru, including appliances, electronics, scrap metal, empty aerosol cans, pots/pans, and batteries. Examples of appliances that can be recycled include washers, dryers, fridges, freezers, air conditioners, dehumidifiers, microwaves, and vacuums. Dishwashers cannot be accepted at this time. Most electronics are recyclable, including laptops, tablets, computer towers, and cell phones. Televisions and computer monitors can be recycled with a $10 fee per item.
The Wyandot County Recycling Center drive-thru is open from 8:00 AM until 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday, and from 8:00 AM until Noon on Saturdays. Aluminum can buy back and special item recycling are available from 8:00 AM until 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday, and from 8:00 AM until 10:30 AM on Saturdays.
